All production PPE has to be marked with the European Union
conformity mark (or CE Mark). This symbol must be displayed
visibly and indelibly on the item, except where this is impossible
when it may be affixed to
the packaging.
Also
on the garment should be a label
which shows:
- Manufacturer's designation
- Aftercare instructions
- Need to refer to manufacturer's
information sheet
- Garment size
- Hazard which the garment design addresses (pictogram in shield)
- Standard (EN) with which the garment complies
- Type of protection offered shown by code letter (e.g. protection
against flame, protection against molten aluminium)
- Level of protection offered shown by
performance number
