Under the PPE Regulations, Personal Protective Equipment is described as any clothing, equipment or accessory intended to be worn or held by a person at work to protect themselves against risks to their health or safety.

The Regulations specify three different categories of hazard:

CATEGORY 3 - COMPLEX
(where there is risk of severe or mortal injury)

CATEGORY 2 - INTERMEDIATE
(a risk of serious injury but less than severe or
mortal injury)

CATEGORY 1 - SIMPLE
(where there is a risk of slight personal injury)

- Head Protection
- Eye Protection
- Ear Protection
- Respiratory
- Hand Protection
- Protective Clothing for the Body
- Foot Protection
